Bad Idea?
Is it a bad idea for me to buy an HoD sword, salvage it, and place the enchanting mod on an IDS? Or is it a waste of hard earned gold?
Please respond before i get irrational and attempt it, and then cry

This must be a joke... Hod swords cost 375k. A 20% enchant mod maybe 40k or so maybe less. Just buy an enchanting mod lol.

I think if you salvage, it will be destroyed. It has to have a prefix or sufix on the name to have a mod you can salvage. If I rembmer correctly it had "Long Sword" which is missing X Long Sword X where x = mods.

It wouldn't matter, as you cannot salvage quest rewards anyway.

It simply will not allow you to salvage it.

its not a quest reward, its from a crafter, i havent tried salvaging crafted weapons but i think it might budge, but why would you waste 300k+ to get a mod you can get for 50k tops...funny guy

Is it a disguised brag about your wealth, or are you truly ignorant?
A quick search on any trade forum / auction site and spamming sell offers in LA would give the obvious answer.

Sell it then buy a perfect Sword pommel of enchanting, from that cash from HoD sword, then place it on the IDS ORRR.... Stick with the HoD and slap yourself for even thinking of doing that.

He's talking about the NEW HoD sword.
..and no, you won't be able to salvage the modification out of it.

I don't see why would you buy an HoD sword and salvage rather than just buying the upgrade for 260k~ less.

You should salvage it. If you get the enchanting mod, imagine how rare that would be, being from a HoD sword and all. If you get materials, you could sell those as special HoD mats.

The point of the matter is HOD swords cannot be salvaged, so this thread should have ran its course.

Actually they can be, it's only collector weapons that can't be salvaged. But I don't think there's much good in keeping this thread open anyway, so closed.
